Job Description: 

PRIME FUNCTION

To ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of all anodizing plant equipment by planning, executing, and monitoring preventive and breakdown maintenance activities, minimizing downtime, and supporting production targets with optimal machine performance.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for anodizing lines and associated utilities.
  • Ensure quick response and resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimize production loss.
  • Maintain anodizing equipment such as rectifiers, tanks, hoists, chillers, pumps, compressors, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and EHS teams for seamless operations.
  • Maintain maintenance records, logs, SOPs, and checklists.
  • Ensure availability of critical spares and manage inventory effectively.
  • Lead troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
  • Supervise and guide technicians and maintenance staff.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and energy-saving measures.

 

 

AUTHORITY

  • Approve routine maintenance activities and schedules.
  • Recommend procurement of spare parts, tools, and services within budget limits.
  • Allocate manpower for maintenance tasks.
  • Stop equipment operation in case of safety or operational risks.
  • Escalate major breakdowns or capital requirements to higher management.

JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in anodizing, surface treatment, or metal finishing industry

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of anodizing process and equipment
  • Expertise in electrical systems, rectifiers, PLCs, and automation
  • Familiarity with pumps, compressors, and utility systems
  • Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
