Job Description: 

PRIME FUNCTION

To ensure product and process quality by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems, conducting audits, resolving quality issues, and ensuring compliance with aerospace and defence industry standards and customer requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement Quality Control procedures, work instructions, and processes to ensure compliance with aerospace and defence standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Supplier Quality, etc.) to identify, analyse, and resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct regular in-process and final inspections, internal audits, and process audits to ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.
  • Analyse production and quality data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive root cause analysis and CAPA implementation for non-conformities.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Support customer audits, certifications, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy as per aerospace & defence standards (AS9100, NADCAP requirements wherever applicable).
  • Enable continuous improvement projects through problem-solving tools and structured methodologies.

AUTHORITY

  • Authority to stop production in case of major quality non-conformities.
  • Authority to escalate quality issues to Management / HOD for immediate action.
  • Authority approve and reject products based on inspection results.
  • Authority to recommend corrective and preventive actions for quality improvements.

JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY

Qualification:

  • BE/Diploma/B. Tech or any relevant field

Experience:

  • 5–10 years

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of quality processes, inspection methods, and quality documentation.
  • Understanding of aerospace & defence industry standards (AS9100, customer-specific requirements).
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, etc.).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings & GD&T.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of QMS tools & audits (Internal, Process, Product audits).
  • AS9100 QMS and Documentation awareness.
