Job Description: 

PRIME FUNCTION

To manage end-to-end production planning and control activities by ensuring accurate demand forecasting, customer order management, maintaining Master Production Schedule (MPS), coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting SIOP processes to achieve delivery, inventory, and operational excellence.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers to ensure customer demand is captured, analyzed, loaded, and managed within the agreed turn-around time.
  • Ensure the Customer Order Acceptance process is followed in alignment with Sales, Inventory & Operational Process (SIOP).
  • Lead, create, and obtain approval for the strategic Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Review and update demand forecasts monthly as part of the SIOP cycle by coordinating with key stakeholders.
  • Generate and maintain weekly/monthly SIOP and Materials Management KPIs.
  • Maintain line of balance during project execution to avoid delays in machining, raw material procurement, and delivery of assemblies.
  • Coordinate subcontracting activities with the SCM department.
  • Ensure department documentation compliance as per AS Audit requirements.
  • Utilize ERP/SAP PP Module for planning, scheduling, and reporting activities
  • Analyze demand forecasts and ensure updated and accurate MPS.
  • Support development and implementation of strategies aligning commercial, supply, and financial planning.
  • Assist in managing the MRP system and mitigating material-related risks.
  • Manage strategic inventory buffers and ensure optimum coverage for all customers.
  • Contribute to effective inventory management practices to minimize shortages and excesses.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen events.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of MIS and performance indicators.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive action strategies with Operations.

AUTHORITY

  • Authority to coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales, SCM, Operations, Quality).
  • Authority to raise planning-related escalations impacting delivery commitments.
  • Authority to update planning schedules, MPS, MRP, and relevant ERP/SAP entries.
  • Authority to recommend inventory strategies and demand planning adjustments.

JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY

Qualification:

  • BE/Diploma/B. Tech or any relevant field

Experience:

  • 5-6 years

Technical Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/SAP PP Module.
  • Strong analytical ability for demand planning and forecasting.
  • Good understanding of MPS, MRP, and inventory management concepts.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of AS documentation and audit requirements.
  • AS9100 QMS and Documentation awareness.
