Job Description: 

PRIME FUNCTION

To coordinate and execute Learning & Development activities, Machine Shop, across Special Process, Production, QA, and Assembly functions with focus on OJT training coordination, competency development, skill matrix management, audit support, LMS administration, customer-specific training compliance, and capability development initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and execute on-the-job and classroom training programs for employees across QA, Assembly, Special Process, and Production functions.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual training calendars in line with functional training needs and business priorities.
  • Work closely with cluster leaders, supervisors, QA, and production teams to identify competency gaps and support capability development initiatives.
  • Maintain and update the departmental skill matrix and track employee competency, certification, and qualification status on a periodic basis.
  • Develop training modules, presentations, SOP-based learning materials, assessments, and other competency development content.
  • Ensure training records, attendance, assessments, certifications, feedback, and related documents are maintained accurately and are audit ready.
  • Manage Learning Management System updates, including training nominations, completion tracking, record maintenance, and report generation.
  • Support internal and customer audit requirements by coordinating training, compliance documentation and competency evidence.
  • Coordinate customer-specific training compliance requirements, particularly for Aerospace and Defence-related processes and standards.
  • Drive employee development initiatives such as multi-skilling, white-collar induction, internship and apprenticeship coordination, industrial visits, and skill development activities.
  • Coordinate Kaizen, Quality Circle, and Skill Olympiad activities, including planning, participation tracking, and execution support.
  • Prepare MIS and effectiveness reports related to training execution, competency development, compliance status, and learning initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal trainers and external training agencies to ensure timely and effective delivery of learning and development programs.

AUTHORITY

  • Authorized to coordinate and schedule classroom and OJT training programs
  • Authorized to coordinate with department heads, supervisors, trainers, and external agencies for training execution
  • Authorized to update and maintain LMS, Skill Matrix, competency records, and training documentation
  • Authorized to coordinate audit-related training documentation and compliance records
  • Authorized to coordinate Kaizen, QC, and Skill Olympiad activities
  • Authorized to generate training MIS and competency reports

JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY

Qualification:

  • · BE Mechanical Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

 Experience:

  • · 3 – 6 years of experience in Learning & Development / Technical Training
  • · Experience in Quality Inspection / QA functions will be an added advantage
  • · Preferably from Aerospace, Precision Manufacturing, Automotive, Engineering, or Special Process industries

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of OJT frameworks and competency development systems
  • Understanding of skill matrix structure, certification mapping, and competency tracking methods
  • Knowledge of Special Process, QA, Assembly, and Manufacturing operations
  • Understanding of customer-specific training compliance requirements, especially in Aerospace and Defence environments
  • Knowledge of Kaizen, Quality Circle (QC), and 6S concepts
  • Knowledge of LMS processes, training records, and documentation control practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of audit documentation requirements and training compliance systems
  • Understanding of training module preparation and technical learning material development
