• Plan machining processes, tool selection, work holding and machining sequences.
• Optimize cutting parameters, tool paths and machining methods to reduce cycle time.
• Run program simulations, prove-outs and trial machining before production release.
• Improve machine utilization and productivity through continual improvement initiatives.
• Support production during program-related issues and minimize machine downtime
Quality (Q): • Ensure CNC programs produce components as per drawing specifications and required tolerances.
• Verify dimensions, GD&T, surface finish and other critical characteristics during prove-out and production.
• Select appropriate tools, cutting parameters and machining strategies to achieve required quality.
• Investigate machining defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
• Coordinate with Quality and Design teams for drawing or process-related issues
Cost (C):
• Optimize cutting tools, speeds, feeds and machining strategies to reduce machining cost.
• Minimize tool consumption, scrap, rework and unnecessary machine time.
• Identify opportunities for tool-life improvement and process cost reduction.
• Support cost-reduction and continual-improvement projects.
• Ensure economical selection of tooling, fixtures and machining processes.
Delivery (D):
• Prepare CNC programs within planned timelines to support production schedules.
• Ensure timely prove-out and release of new/modified programs.
• Provide quick program corrections during production to avoid delays.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room and Design teams to meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain and update approved CNC programs and ensure correct program availability at the machine.
