Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cutting Tool Design Engineer with expertise in solid carbide and indexable cutting tool design, machining processes, and application engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative tooling solutions, optimizing machining performance, supporting manufacturing and customer applications, and driving continuous improvements in tool life and productivity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of solid carbide and indexable cutting tools.
  • Cutting tool selection and optimization for complex components and machining processes.
  • 3D CAD modelling, assembly, and detailed engineering documentation.
  • Preparation of design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and technical validations.
  • Selection and optimization of cutting parameters based on machining requirements.
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, metal cutting theory, and tool geometry.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, grinding, and cutting tool manufacturing processes.
  • Development and implementation of tool life improvement and productivity enhancement solutions.
  • Preparation of technical and customized tooling solutions for process requirements.
  • Continuous improvement of tooling designs to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience in Project planning & resource management (preferred).

  • CAD modelling and drafting – AutoCAD & Inventor
  • Design calculations and tolerance analysis
  • Machining fundamentals and metal cutting theory
  • Application engineering and process optimization
  • GD&T and engineering standards
  • PLM/PDM Systems – Teamcenter (Preferred)
