Job Description: 

 

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory activities supporting surface treatment and special processes.
  • Conduct chemical analysis of process baths used for anodizing, plating, cleaning, conversion coating, passivation, and other surface treatment processes.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical bath parameters such as concentration, pH, temperature, conductivity, specific gravity, and other applicable parameters.
  • Ensure laboratory testing is carried out as per approved procedures, customer specifications, and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory test reports, analysis records, chemical logs, and process monitoring documents.
  • Ensure timely testing and release of process baths to support uninterrupted production.
  • Identify abnormal chemical parameters and coordinate with the Surface Treatment team for necessary corrections.
  • Establish and maintain laboratory testing methods, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform validation and verification of laboratory test methods wherever required.
  • Ensure laboratory instruments and equipment are calibrated and maintained within defined intervals.
  • Maintain chemical reference standards, reagents, solutions, and laboratory consumables with proper identification and traceability.
  • Monitor chemical consumption and support optimization of chemical usage and process costs.
  • Support surface treatment process development, trials, new product introduction, FAI, and process validation activities.
  • Investigate laboratory deviations and abnormal test results and support root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Production, Engineering, and external laboratories for testing and technical requirements.
  • Support customer, internal, certification, and regulatory audits related to laboratory and special processes.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with EHS requirements.
  • Train and guide laboratory personnel on testing procedures, equipment operation, safety, and documentation.
  • Drive 5S, Kaizen, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory.
