Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To support the maintenance team in ensuring smooth and reliable operation of plant machinery, equipment, utilities, and electrical systems by carrying out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance team in breakdown and preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Attend machine breakdowns and support quick restoration of equipment.
  • Carry out routine inspection of machines and identify abnormalities such as leakage, noise, vibration, overheating, etc.
  • Assist in Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain maintenance records, checklists, breakdown reports, and machine history.
  • Support in installation, commissioning, shifting, and modification of machines.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring PLC, sensors, motors, drives, control panels, switches, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
  • Follow safety procedures, LOTO, PPE requirements, and standard maintenance practices.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers and technicians during machine breakdowns and improvement activities.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) for repetitive machine failures.
  • Assist in maintaining critical spare parts and proper inventory records.
  • Support maintenance improvement projects aimed at reducing MTTR and improving MTBF.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices in the maintenance area.
  • Prepare basic reports and communicate machine status to senior maintenance personnel.

Required Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical and control systems.
  • Basic understanding of motors, sensors, contactors, relays, MCBs, MCCBs, VFDs, and control panels.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and machine automation.
  • Understanding of electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety and 5S.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and MS Office.
