Job Description:
PRIME FUNCTION
To develop, optimize, and implement efficient manufacturing processes that enhance productivity, ensure quality compliance, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives in machining and assembly operations.
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct detailed process analysis to identify improvement opportunities related to raw materials, bought-out components, machining processes, and fixture design.
- Analyze engineering drawings and define optimal process flow for machining, bench work, and assembly operations.
- Design, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing processes or technologies to support innovation.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, control plans, PFMEA, stage drawings, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust process implementation.
- Support fixture design, inspection methodologies, and assembly techniques.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards and statutory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across departments
AUTHORITY
- Recommend and implement process improvements and optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal departments for process-related changes and enhancements.
- Propose tooling, fixture, and process modifications to improve efficiency and quality.
- Escalate process deviations, risks, or non-compliances to appropriate stakeholders.
JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY
Qualification:
- BE/Diploma/B. Tech or any relevant field
Experience:
- 5-10 years
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge of VMC, CNC machines, and machining processes.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience in fixture design, inspection methodologies, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in engineering tools/software such as UG NX and CATIA.
- Knowledge of process documentation including PFDs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs.
- AS9100 QMS and Documentation awareness.
